Buon Natale e buon anno prossimo anche a te Fausto. Spero che ti porti una soluzione per il tuo tempo libero da dedicare alla famiglia. Un amichevole abbraccio.
I am hoping my review comes through on this site as I had a hard time leaving one on Expedia. I stayed at this property, the Alloggi Barbaria, the end of April, 2019 for 5 nights and I have only wonderful comments to say about it. The most convenient thing is getting from the airport to the property by public Water Bus. No change of boat, just one way and you get off at the stop called "Ospedale" then turn towards the Grocery store, take a right and about 1/2 a city block down, you will see the small yellow sign for the Alloggi on left. Then you go upstairs, and you'll see a nice breakfast eating area and the rooms. You are given a key so that you can come and go to this locked building whenever you want. The location feels residential dotted by local bars and restaurants but you are just 10, maybe 15 minutes from the iconic Rialto Bridge dating back to 1591! The Alloggi is located near the only Hospital in Venice so when I got lost, (which I did often) I would ask anyone for the directions to the Hospital or "Ospedale" and I'd find my way home easily. The rooms are basic, very clean, bathrooms come with a nice shower and with hair dryer. The TV only has one English Channel (BBC) but I didn't care really as I had WiFi, my IPAD and besides, I was on "vacation". I had a small refrigerator, a basic breakfast and daily maid service (if I wanted). Very quiet area at night and felt so safe here as a single woman. I should add that it is also easy to hop on this public Water Bus (Ospedale) to all parts of Venice or the outlying islands like Murano and Burano that you might want to visit because it is so close to board a boat. Fausto who is the hotel manager (and who speaks many languages), his wife and his daughter were a wealth of information for getting around and very accommodating. This little hotel is one of those jewels that doesn't cost a fortune to stay in and yet you feel like you are close to the heart of Venice. I hope to stay there again next year if I can.
