A presto.

Bert: This story is a tradition that is told in Venice. The legend was that a man and his wife said that the new bridge (by da Ponte) would never be finished. The man said that if the bridge was ever finished claws would grow between his thighs, and his wife said that fire would consume her 'belly' (but she used a cruder word). The bridge was finished and the man and his wife are depicted on the side of the palazzo, showing that you must be careful when you make a promise.Bertnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-137153360319394628.post-79471380942509418132010-08-13T15:28:38.577+02:002010-08-13T15:28:38.577+02:00The story I heard was that San Trovaso is on the b...The story I heard was that San Trovaso is on the boundary between the Castellani and the Nicolotti. Sometimes there was a wedding between two families, one from each side. The two façades allowed each family to enter by different entrances, thus avoiding trouble.
